A simple mention of the word Einstein causes one to think of the sort of genius unattainable by the normal human. Immediately one thinks of the many different contributions Einstein himself has made to the scientific community, from the ubiquitous E=mc2 equation to the mysterious theory which seems to govern the universe, relativity. Is Einstein deserving of the fame and instant recognition society bestows upon him? The only logical way to answer this question is to look at his contributions to scientific knowledge and see if they are truly amazing discoveries, or things which the average person in possesion of 21/3 pounds of cranial matter (Gleick 311) could figure out on the back of a napkin.
