Here is the generic "collection of places Charles goes often." Seems most
every personal site on the Internet has some sort of links page, so I might
as well follow the crowd. Here goes.
Electronics
I'm not a dork. A dork I am not. Or, in a more condensed form, dork!=Charles.
Friends
I have more friends than this, I swear. Most of them just don't have web
pages.
- Zach Berke He's got a CSU Class of '98 directory thing... neat.
- Eugene Chan Turns out you CAN serve web pages from a Mac.
- Ralph Mcnall One of my friends from North Dorm.
- Chuck Schied One of my suitemates at Mudd. The other two would be listed, but they don't appear to have web pages.
- Ryan White Partner in crime and world domination schemes.
Humor
These sites are funny. Well, they make me laugh, which doesn't really
mean they'll be humerous to the population at large.
Linux
Want something to waste nearly all of your waking hours on? Try a stable
operating system! Linux requires lots of setup and patience. But once it's
up, it stays up.
- Corel Linux Corel offers a free version of WP for Linux. Nice of them, isn't it?
- gEDA GNU Electronic Design Automation. Still in alpha, but very promising.
- Linux Applications Useful when you're looking for an app to do a specific task.
- Linux Online A good place to start, with lots of general information.
- Linux Kernel Archives Lots of mirrors holding all Linux kernels.
- metalab.unc.edu The largest Linux archive out there.
Music
Bands I like, places to buy music, and stuff like that.
Projects
Here's a pretty thorough list of web-based things I've worked on in the past or am
currently working on.
- USE The Universal Setlist Engine (a setlist search engine)
- HighlandNet A pretty big Scottish interest site dreamed up by me and my father. I maintained this site for two years. But alas, I have little free time these days, so my dad has taken over.
- pangaea This site. Duh.
- SPIRES SLAC information server. I helped update the HEP database during summer 1998.
Surplus Electronics
Most of these places are in the SF Bay Area. But then again, most will
ship things anywhere in the country, so it doesn't really matter. These are
all good sources of cheap, neat stuff.
